Trying out React compiler on our React 18 app. Really easy to get set up, and people like @no.lol are doing work making sure you feel supported!
Keeping things simple paid off big time. Only had to change the API of one sketchy custom hook, and click Play.
Now I'm looking at a lot of sparkles ✨

Trying out React compiler on our React 18 app. Really easy to get set up, and people like @no.lol are doing work making sure you feel supported!

I found it good but a bit quiet when I followed fewer people.
You might also find these settings useful. I used to front every reply just to make things a bit more noisy.

Umm, like this? Has always worked fine for me on Android (probably works the same on all platforms?) but it seems to lack context, so it may be a few keystrokes to wade through all existing accounts.

We're talking about the post composer experience on Android, right?
If so, here are a few samples from my Fairphone 4. It's like the text field ends slightly later (a pixel or three) than the screen, thus causing a minor cutoff. Very not terrible, just a minor nuisance.

At least getting set up using your build instructions (github.com/bluesky-soci...) was trivial (for someone who is already familiar with Expo).
Didn't try Android or iOS yet, but having this running in 5 minutes is a promising start :)

I have mixed feelings.. (from a reporter PoV).
I wanted to report a bug yesterday, and ran into this.
I totally understand why it's needed, but with no prior knowledge of the maintainer's responsiveness, creating a reproduction feels akin to writing a cover letter for a long shot job application.

Tried to reproduce (never used lists before, so not sure I got it right), but it seems I'm getting the behavior you are expecting but not getting?
If so, we might be able to conclude that the cause is something in the nature of your lists and/or device (rather than OS, since I also use Android).

I found a mostly unrelated GH issue, which has a reproduction (Snack) that allowed me to select text on Android: github.com/facebook/rea...
It was still a bit wonky, and I'm not sure if I'm actually testing something bespoke, but hey, it seems it is possible?
