People in the future will wonder how China outpaced the US but must of them will not mention the most important factor: NIMBYs.

The hole around the 1930 and the following decade didn't correspond to a bubble burst or a recession.

The 2020 pandemic didn't cause a significant dip.

If AI does burst, the impact would be barely noticeable without zooming in this chart.

People clown on the windows LinkedIn shortcut then install a 'distro' with a shortcut for fucking Twitter.

Well, it's not too different from the stuff chiropractors actually do.

I think that's also the weakness of modern liberalism. Many people in power took it for granted and thought that if they closed their eyes and waited, all it's challenges would go away.

Liberalism is something you have to fight for, it is not the natural state of history.

I don't think that's niche. That's just the virtue of honesty applied to tabletop games.

I think you should try it out just for fun. But it's not something that's universally recommended because the set of problems it solves is very specific.

One of them is the 'my fix can't run in your computer' problem, because of the reproducibility.

That's when you finally make the step to NixOS.

In the context (which still kinda makes him look like an ass) he's clearly criticizing that the 'gruesome' result of the model resembles a person with disabilities. Nothing resembling modern image models.

AFIK, he hasn't said anything about modern AI

Reminds me of people spamming the quote of Hayao Miyazaki castigating some college student's project back in 2016.

I'm glad a bunch of people are trying out Linux, but I don't understand what people find so appalling about Windows 11 that wasn't also present in 10.

I'm not denying she's US backed, but the campaign exposing the stolen venezuelan elections had a lot of merit. I don't think her alignment is reason enough to dismiss the actual work she has done.

I disagree, she and her team did a pretty good exposing the sham that were the 2024 venezuelan elections.

There may have been better candidates for the prize, but I think people dismissing her as a 'us puppet' are disingenuous.

Man, I hope games that you play with your body but aren't VR make a comeback.

My unpopular opinion is that the Kinect was fun as fuck.

I don't understand the hype around omarchy, I dug around the config and saw some demos on YouTube and it seems like a pretty standard hyprland config with a bunch of preinstalled apps.

I would say Isaac Asimov. His stories have a big sense of optimism and an "I can fix it" attitude for mankind.

Ok, but is it fine if I speak passive aggressively to the flowers because they gave me the same solution three times after I told them it didn't work?
