A Cetti's Warbler Cettia cetti on a branch of the storm-felled Horse Chestnut Aesculus hippocastanum in a small London park this morning. Since this tree was toppled by Storm Henk on 2nd January 2024, I have photographed 30 species of #birds on its branches.

Once called “devil divers” in much of the western US. They indeed submerge like a sub, forward or backward!
I know a Swedish bird guide who twitched on one in NE Canada and after a successful sighting got it tattooed on his neck.
