Your photo is excellent but I’d have to rebut your claim for ‘the most beautiful bird in the world’. Australian Rainbow Lorikeets are noisy and cheeky - and very beautiful. This one, in a bottlebrush tree in my yard yesterday morning, was too busy eating to pose #birdsofbluesky

Base camp on Tibet side is at 5200 m. 3 days jeep trip from Llasa. No trek involved!
Ramshackle base camp of Everest (Qomolangma). The mountain white against blue sky. Lots of layers of warm clothing did not prevent the bitterly cold stinging wind. It was hard to stand virtually. Road to Base Camp. The tip of Everest from road leading to base camp. Light snow swirling from the tip. Small hillock in foreground is festooned with prayer flags. Local workers (who do the hard climbs and will be most affected by the blizzard) relaxing at base camp.
