Yeah, Remix conf was definitely planned to overlap React conf, but not for the reasons you think.

Matt wanted to retain the React Cup without competing, cause he knew he’d lose this year, so he influenced the schedule.

Pulling back isn't a "waste". It's an act of acknowledgement that what really matters has been revealed and further clarified.

And isn't that the payoff? Before you couldn't see, but now you do.

I think I've always believed what you outlined — the journey is the "result", not the destination — but I'm curious why you don't think that anymore?

I think it's something inherent to creative work…going from vision to reality exposes things you didn't see.
