A friend of mine who is a Cornish ex-pat living in Peterborough buys in bulk when he's down there and keeps them in his freezer. Possibly from this very pasty emporium.

Well, I don't actually have anywhere to run it other than my small switching layout. I'm somewhere between a modeller and a collector at the moment.

Decent, well observed, weathering makes such a difference to a model. I wish I'd taken a few more, better quality photos now!

Probably about the same to be honest. UK model prices tend to be pretty stable. Buying US prototypes in the UK relies heavily on the second hand market, but prices are good. I picked up an Athearn UP AC4400 (newer, Dcc ready, model) today for £50 which I was really happy with.

I'll be interested to travel out and visit one of the big US shows one day. It's on my bucket list for when I retire!

Venture Park was a really nice layout with a good selection of subtly weathered stock. It has the bonus of being a fictional depot set about five miles from where I live. There were a lot of superb layouts on show today.

There were a couple that I didn't get to see much of because of how busy they were - I think Dawlish was one of them as I only remember seeing it fairly briefly. And even at the very start of the day it was a scrum to get to the front at the trade stands. Good day out though!

It was really impressive.

Ah, I wish I'd known you were going, I would have bought you a coffee. I think it's a draw between Whittlesmarch, Euxton Junction and Kreuzweg for me. I really enjoyed Kreuzweg - so simple but really nice to watch.

Success! Best its ever run. The diesel runs too but is very noisy.
