There's a football field in there... somewhere!

A bit of fog during morning workouts this week here in Boscobel.

I'm nothing if not persistent - I got my first job in radio calling the station every day for 6 weeks until they hired me back in 2003!

And thank you. It took 2 years for them to realize I should have been charged in network (where deductible was met). Health insurance is an adventure sometimes.

When my 2nd son was born, I was charged mid 6 figures out of network for his NICU stay since the NICU wasn't part of my insurance's network. We didn't really have a choice but to put him in the (covered) hospital's NICU obviously. Finally got insurance to fix it, 2 years later. Largest W of my life.

I made it 10 years being married, somehow, despite how annoying I am. Life achievement unlocked!

Aren't many things better than lifting your kid out of a tough moment with encouragement. When he looks to the bleachers, he's got his parents cheering him on. And you can tell it works because he immediately pulls himself out of a bad result with a joke or a toothy grin.

Parenting is awesome.

Last night, my son had two hits, including the go-ahead RBI. Tonight, he struck out both times at the plate. Both nights, I told him I was proud of him for his effort.

When he makes a mistake, he will look at us (parents), and every time, we're telling him good effort. Sometimes, he cracks a smile.

Sometimes as a parent of a kid in sports, you're happy when they do well doing the sports thing. Make the goal, hit the ball, score the points. All good things.

But.

I'm personally happiest when my kids are genuinely enjoying sports like the giant goofballs they are.

It's shedding season (happens twice a year) but it's hard to be upset about all the fuzz tumbleweeds because they're kinda cute

Loud, attention-seeking, and overly dramatic (even as far as huskies go), but kinda cute
