I just don't have the energy to also run separate accounts for everything. I want to be able be point out shitty political crap but I also want to scream over my fave ship & occasionally post my dumb attempts at art while yelling at clouds.

Covid delayed everything, but they could have easily skipped ahead a few more yeae to the kids graduating etc., so it wouldn't have been as jarring to see them grown up.
Still reserving full judgment till all episodes are out, but it's stupid to have split-up multi part releases for one season.

You can enjoy the show or books without getting involved in either famdom beyond just liking it.
