Great article by my colleague Daniel J. Sherman, who isn't mentioned at any point in this thread.
In 1920s France, an archeological dig became front-page news.

After farmers in the village of Glozel unearthed unusual artifacts, an archaeologist began excavations, revealing pottery with alphabet-like symbols that seemed far too advanced for the site’s age.

But was it a hoax?

Saw this new @nccourage.com merch and accepted the craft challenge. Cross stitch, southernness, and soccer. Cross stitch by me. Let’s go Courage!

So very not surprised. #FIFA
Yep, the system is entirely broken. 400 errors and then booted out of the system for unusual activity.
Anyone else get past the wait clock to enter the Visa Presale Draw and then get a 400 error when submitting their first step of registration? Help! #FIFA

On the east bank of the Rhone in Lyon stands the Tony Bertand Aquatic center, built in 1965 to designs by Alexandre Audouze-Tabourin. An Olympic folly, complete with 4 enormous “torch” towers, part of mayor Louis Pradel’s quest to being the 1968 Summer Games to the city (Mexico City got the bid).

I only had to land in Lyon to immediately see the structurally flamboyant work of Santiago Calatrava in the Lyon-Saint Exupery Airport Station (1994). Very insect-like. And the bollards were all gabion cages. Looking forward to more new-to-me architecture!

My sisters and I spent countless hours in fabric stores, going through the big pattern books to choose a dress or other item and then going to the big drawers to find that pattern in the right size.

Making the most of a rainy holiday to put up my new bathroom mirror. The light fixture went up two weeks ago, but the wall had to be spackled and painted first. I kept a piece of the original 1969 woven wallpaper.

Finished! FLW meets Finley Fabric’s Looking Glass (pattern by Laura Vehige). March balloon accent pieces on the front repeated larger in the backing. Pieced and bound by me and longarmed by Carrie Hauser of Lovebug Longarming. Fabrics by Cloud9 based on Wright’s designs.
