Thames Water half-year profits leap to £386m after bills rose by nearly a third.

Leaks and sewage dumping will continue for years.

£20bn+debt. A third of the bill covers interest payments.

Captive customers have no choice.

End the scam. Nationalise water.

The UK government’s budget is simply managing decline.

The budget does little to improve living standards or facilitate sustained economic growth.

Can't grow economy by hiking taxes on low/middle income families.

Whatever happened to taxing the rich?

In case you missed this, the BBC edited a historian's speech about Trump to remove the claim that he's "the most openly corrupt president in US history." This came after Trump had threatened a $1 billion lawsuit.

Elite capitulation continues.

Read all about it here:

Trump Angrily Threatened to Sue BBC. Then Things Took a Darker Turn.
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

This is how Rachel Reeves could deliver a progressive budget.

Billions available without increasing the rate of income tax, National Insurance or corporation tax.

Just end some of the perks for a select few, anomalies and abuses. Redistribute to alleviate poverty, better infrastructure.

Zack echoing the fury of every decent British person today. Thank you Zack 👏👏👏
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".

But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.

I have to say I'm listening less & less to #r4today. They've gone to tabloid, they could've done a bit of a deep dive on prisons & problems. But we've a presenter who knows nothing berating a junior minister who knows nothing. I can get all the ill informed BS I need on SM I expect more from #BBC.

Why is #r4today using Trump's language of "radical left wing" democrat to describe Mamdani.

He calls himself a "democratic socialist", why is that not the description used on the BBC?

Am a fan of #R4PM but this conversation on 'anger' is annoying!
Not difficult to derive the sources of anger in the UK (mostly austerity and news/social media 'othering'), but instead of investigating the political & economic backdrop the show considers 'anger' as if it emerges from a vacuum.
