OMG the ARC copies arrived today and they are so so so pretty it’s a real book now I’m allowed to freak out a bit right??

(#MurderWillOut, a mystery set on a fictional island off the coast of Maine, for sale 2/17/2026 from @MinotaurBooks—available for preorder!) us.macmillan.com/books/978125...
A box full of gorgeous ARCs of my debut murder mystery Murder Will Out, haunted-looking house on the Maine coast against a twilight sky with awesome creepy yellow font for the cover…

I kind of love how the new Superman movie skips the origin story and accepts that we all know who Superman is—instead they’re like “ok so there are these meta humans, and there’s this war, and Superman, and now we’re gonna pick up in the middle of this battle Superman just lost…” and just carry on.

I got shingles and flu jabs yesterday and they kicked my butt; going for the covid jab next weekend. Hope you’re feeling ok!

I feel like there should be a long German word for “the split second after you leave the Zoom meeting when your public team player smile drops abruptly from your face like a used tissue.”

An “entire cup” of the mini pretzels is the acceptable service size for one adult human. So let it be written.

OMG I completely forgot this film and I don’t think I ever knew it was based on the Straub novel (which I never read). Now I want to see it again.

(Alice Krige is fantastic in everything she’s in.)

Want to drop a link in the replies so people can buy it? :-) (please? :-) )

(Oh oops! Yeah, clearly I did…I thought it seemed soon!)

Omg AMAZING GRACE your book came today! (2 pages in and I’m hooked, my God your voice is awesome)(y’all buy this book please buy this book) @gracedalyauthor.bsky.social
Me peering over the top of Grace Daly’ debut novel “The Scald Crow.”

I regret that I had but one WaPo cancellation to give for my subscription…and I did so months ago. I would do it again if I could.

So, I really enjoy @harlancoben.bsky.social, and Richard Armitage is lovely, but…

…maybe they should stop casting him in the Harlan Coben Netflix adaptations? because the minute you see him you’re like, “oh yeah, he’s mad shady!” and it becomes spoilery…😆

(Oh duh, I just replied and then saw your “this applies to behavior that doesn’t hurt others” which I’d missed the first time.)

I really really hate it when movies require every single character to be completely brainless in order for the plot to work.

The crew of the #LastVoyageOfTheDemeter deserved to be eaten by vampires.

It was so delightful! Amazing cast, too.

Absofrickinglutely. I get the vat of it from Costco and use it practically daily.

(Is it as good as fresh garlic? Not by a stretch. But it’s always there, faithful, and gets it done.)

Just Watched #TheLifeofChuck …what a lovely rich piece, from an equally lovely story…

It might just be the perfect movie. Thank you, @stephenking.bsky.social and @mikeflanaganfilm.com for this treasure.

OMG I’m so with you—that firehose is well-meaning but instense! I’m in that flaily period before the first book releases, trying to write the second one and kind of terrified I won’t be able to do it again.

Yes, same. Were things not as they are in this weird-ass timeline we now occupy, I’d be actually relieved that so many young women around me can barely wrap their brains around even the idea, let alone the reality, of what it was like.

I loved Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts (Kate Racculia) and A New Lease on Death (Olivia Blacke) - fiction, mystery, but very “ohhh these are my people!” without hitting you over the head with the NDness of the protagonist.

I feel like “Mrs. deWinter” would be a fantastic name for a dog.

What breed would she be, I wonder?

My AuDHD self—as another author who created an unintentionally ND protagonist—loves this! I can’t wait to rest MbtB; it’s coming home from #Bouchercon with me. ❤️

Off to #bouchercon2025 and for some reason leaving the gloriousness of perfect Chicago early September weather for 85 degrees in New Orleans...

(I'm just pretending to be blase; I'm super excited! My first Bouchercon, and my last as a not-yet-published author!)

Popcorn sounds sensible to me.

I love tucking them in the middle of a stack of short, stark ones. Then opening up and letting them sing. <3
