Ihr wisst schon, dass Friedrich Merz diese ganze Apokalypse im Bundestag letzte Woche angerichtet hat, weil ihn ausgerechnet Trumps Show beeindruckt hatte, wie der Executive Orders vor einem aufgeheizten Mob unterschreibt? Der Faschismus verfing – natürlich bei Merz und der CDU.

Die ZEIT: Und natürlich gehört zu diesem Donnerstag auch der Eindruck, den der Trumpsche Sofortismus auf viele Unionsleute gemacht hat: Der US-Präsident beim Unterzeichnen von Regierungsdekreten im Oval Office, in deren Folge illegale Einwanderer aufgegriffen, Umweltschutzbehörden abgeschafft oder Gewalttäter auf freien Fuß gesetzt werden. "So eine Optik brauchen wir auch", meint ein Merz-Vertrauter: "Die Schreibunterlage, der Füller, die Unterschrift - zack! So was wollen die Leute sehen!“
