Very angry nerd. Texas based.

All opinions my own, and I stand by them usually.
I hope all you lovely people had a good holiday, and focused on the positive aspects of it.

Anyway they call this posting after too much food and wine.

Exactly that. Which is how I always saw Bugs Bunny do it.

What a stupid time that was.

I’m only annoyed that I didn’t learn “whatever blows your skirt up” until I met my wife roughly 7 years later.

My posts are more like this btw, for those of you looking at this profile after one appears to be escaping containment

And of course the cat has to be on the rug to make those noises.

But obviously some of this persists and it always makes me sad and angry to see it.

And part of what I find so distasteful about the rise of the right wing is that it’s coming back. Hurting us all for essentially no reason.

I could write a bit about this. I went to a single-sex high school, so policing of gender and sexuality was incredibly strict there. At the same time (mid-90s), my mother worked in a nursing home for AIDS patients.

Now, my own kids are a little less strict about it all. I’m happy to see that.

I got kicked in elementary school at one point for looking at my fingernails in a “gay” way.

I was told at one point it was queer to say “to each, their own” rather than “whatever floats your boat, dude”.

Those 2 things made me aware that gender norms are l made up & policed by the insecure.

This is what we mean when we say “patriarchy hurts men, too”.

Overall this is an extremely fun thread.

I did think that was pretty clever. I think maybe I was billed a horror movie and got more of a drama or allegory with some horror moments. Maybe I just wasn’t in the right head space for it.

I was pretty lukewarm on it. I’m curious to hear your thoughts, as someone who actually knows stuff about movies.

So much so that I got a blue canary nightlight for the kid’s room. It’s now in my wife’s office. In an outlet (no longer by the light switch).
