I fall back on old favorite books that are comfort reading because I know them so well I don’t have to concentrate. Sometimes these are children’s books. Or I listen to an audiobook of a narrator with a soothing voice reading a classic. You could try this while walking if you need to move.

None of this backstorying excuses it. If verse were a verb meaning to play against, it would be We verse them, not us verses them.

That’s logical but stupid.
