This would be my ballot, except sub Rollins for somebody other than Utley or Beltran
Ballot #16 is from first-time voter Arden Zwelling. There's a new end of the alphabet in Hall of Fame voting! Beltrán, Félix, Jones and Pettitte are a perfect 5-for-5 among rookie voters, while Hamels and Utley are 4-for-5. With this ballot, Andruw Jones reaches 75%.

Good Things from this year, Day 9:

I love being a union leader! This year my union won an award for growth, and we're poised to add even more unionized charter schools to our numbers this year. We won't stop until every charter school in PA is organized!

Man, f*** the #Astros for selling out to private equity

Looks like I need to catch up a bit!
Day 4: I have a wonderful group of 4th graders that I teach

Day 5: I saw one of the best symphony performances of my life yesterday (Shostakovich 5)

Day 6: Astros were better than I in expected at the beginning of the year (I thought they'd be .500)
Day 3 of good things from this year:

My wife and I finally found a babysitter up to the task of watching my 4 kids plus a grant, through post-adoptive services, that helps pay for it
Day three: In June I got to meet Houston legend and meteorological marvel @mattlanza.bsky.social at Brazos Bookstore. He was there speaking about the 1900 Galveston Hurricane, a subject I’ve connected with and learned a lot more about this year

Veterans committee is always weird in how they vote and the whole process needs to be drastically changed. However, I'm happy to see Jeff Kent in the Hall!
Jeff Kent elected to the Hall of Fame while the four candidates I supported were stiffed and won’t be eligible in 2029. This is a disappointment to say the least

This is my kind of HoF ballot! I'm a big Hall guy, and while this is not the 10 I'd vote for, I'm glad to see the votes for the pitchers
Ballot #10 is from Brian MacPherson. With some spots available, he gives some support to starting pitchers Hamels, Hernández (+2), Buehrle (+1), and Pettitte (+1) while Pedroia receives his first ever +1. Manny Ramírez is squeezed off and falls to net (-1)

I love downtown Pittsburgh in December!

Had to get the Grateful Dead named beer (Black Muddy River) - it's a delicious imperial black IPA

Ok, gathered the whole family

Much better picture this time and my youngest... Well, she's being herself!

Catching the Nutcracker with the family. Just the boys in the picture because we had to split up to all get "affordable" seats.

My older son is here under protest, as you can clearly see

#rootrootread

Finished a bunch of books recently, as pictured. None qualified for any of my Book Bingo spaces.

The one that really stuck out to me was Nigeria Jones by Ibi Zoboi. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Very engaging coming of age book about a girl in a black separatist community

Don't get mad about HOF ballots... Don't get mad about HoF ballots...
Don't <twitch> get <twitch> mad (steam starts trickling out of my ears) about 🤮 HoF 🤬 ballots🌋
Ballot #5 is from a voter who wishes to remain anonymous. As a refresher, we are unable to report adds or drops, if any, on anonymous ballots.

This is the first ever known David Wright-only ballot. There will not be a unanimous inductee this year.

Greg Gross signed baseball. Love obscure-ish guys who were both #Astros and Phillies
What is the most "obscure" piece of sports memorabilia that you own? Why do you have it?

It would be easy & completely understandable to reflect on this year & only see all of the terrible things that occurred. I want to look back on all of the GOOD things everyone experienced. For December I plan to share one good thing every day that brought me joy this year. I encourage you to join

I was looking up the Twins/Senators catchers who played the most games, and I swear half these names are AI-generated.

"Muddy Ruel"
"Patsy Gharrity"
"Ed Fitz Gerald"

I love this idea! I'll share two things today that brought me joy this year since I missed yesterday.

1.) Finding #Astros Bluesky. Finding a community of Astros fans is awesome since I'm over a thousand miles away

2.) Relearning how to bake pies - tasty and keeping a family tradition alive

Owen Tippett gets taken down with a clear path to the empty net, and that means it's a goal! Flyers up 5-3 now.

This is what I deserve for complementing the #Flyers

Tippett did that thing where he remembered he’s bigger and faster than everyone again.

The #Flyers still have room to improve, but it's been great to see them look like a real hockey team this season.
