I need to not use Instacart. I thought I was treating myself to a small piece of truffle cheese and instead they sent expresso martini cheese. I don't want my cheese to be surreal.

So cool to see my second book is reaching new readers more than two decades after its publication.

Between living in a state of hyper-vigilance, enduring widespread loss, and bearing witness to purposeful cruelty while powerless to stop it, we are all experiencing trauma—even if we as individuals or as members of a vulnerable group are not being targeted directly.

Be gentle with yourselves.

More like cutting your legs off and gaining 80 pounds.
Creating the Department of Government Efficiency and still adding over $2.1 Trillion in debt is like hiring a personal trainer and gaining 80 pounds.

Wasn’t it only a minute ago that the right claimed to care about “free speech”?
This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

I’m going to Albuquerque in a couple of days. My parents lived there for more than a decade after they retired. I can’t imagine how it’s going to feel to be there.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and scared and sad, remind yourself of what you can do and then do it

Got extra cash? Donate to a food pantry

Extra time? Phone bank or canvas

Have little kids? Model kindness and communal care

Do what you can and push to do a little more than you think you can

I guess “Let them eat ballrooms” is too obvious.
Today, the White House Press Secretary told the country that this ridiculous damn ballroom is “the president’s main priority”…not reopening the government, not lowering the cost of groceries, not lowering the cost of housing, not lowering the cost of healthcare….building a ballroom

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.
