This weekend has been just what I needed. Rest and relaxation and plenty of Christmas cheer. I’ve got a 50+ hour week ahead of me, so I feel I’ve done all I could to prepare myself for it.

Today Kasper and I sang Christmas songs all the way to the gym and back. We had pancakes for lunch, just had a nap together and later we’re going to the Christmas market with some friends.

Kasper has shaved off his beard to leave just a moustache. He looks like a 70s porn star. I keep cracking up every time I look at him. I can’t take him seriously.

I should be getting ready to go to the gym as I’ve been awake since 3:30, but it’s nearly 8:30 and the sun still hasn’t risen here yet, so I just don’t have motivation to get off the sofa.

Yesterday was an epic day. Kasper finally paid off the last of his bank loan. He’s been in debt since he was 18 (he’s 46 now) and the loan has gone up and down over the years, but now it’s gone. He’s worked ridiculously hard this year, doing tons of overtime to get rid of it.

I’ve opened day 2 on my advent calendar, got my coffee in my Christmas mug and I’m watching TV by the light of the fire and the Christmas tree. Good start to a well-earned day off.

Today at work, we decorated the home with Christmas decorations while we had Christmas music playing. It was so nice. The old people helped.

Today was so much better at work. I spoke to my boss and she was just the sweetest. I really like her. She’s aware of how bad things can be in the house I’m working in and told me not to doubt myself or my abilities.

Awake in the middle of the night thinking about work. I’ve worked 9 shifts there and I’m seriously considering finding another place to work already. It’s not the job or the management or my colleagues. It’s one resident. I feel like they’ve broken me.

Today has been a lovely day off with blue skies, which have been a rarity in the last few weeks. Gym, sewing, a long walk in the woods, a bit of baking and a bit of cleaning. I feel refreshed and ready for work again in the morning.

Just read something that said dogs can be neurodivergent and it just made sense of my Sne. She was totally autistic. She hated eye contact, she didn’t understand doggy social norms she refused to eat out of a bowl and didn’t like food of different textures mixed up.

So glad to finally be past the grey part, which is almost the same colour as the material I’m sewing on. It was hard on the eyes.
