Final contribution: This shows which countries are in what groupings though it doesn’t explain exactly what the relationship with the SM is. But unless you are in the SM and CU for everything then yes you will face barriers of some sorts.

My letter @thetimes.com on why it makes more sense to rejoin the EU than join their customs union or single market but stay out, which would pose major risks for the UK.

Funeral for a friend. Pascal Lamy points the finger at himself when he criticises the Dutch Single Market Cioner for actually trying to do his job and complete the single market for services. “Politically hamfisted” means opposed by France and Germany. Championed by the UK. @financialtimes.com

What the @OBR_UK analysis of economic effect of tariffs shows is that the UK needs to pay as much attention to how other countries retaliate (or not) as to its own goods trade with the US - ie scenario 3 below (20% tariffs on all US imports plus retaliation). Alliances are key.

This is what happens when you try to cancel your subscription @TheEconomist (and you have gone through the numerous intermediary pages). Completely outrageous, worst type of scam behaviour. I’m definitely cancelling now..

Perhaps just now isn’t the best time for the UK to think of joining #USMCA
