My dad had a massive stroke & was comatose for a few weeks. The doctors recommended exposing him to his favorite music & movies. It was Halloween and his favorite movie was Young Frankenstein, so I bought a portable DVD player & played for him nonstop. He’s alive and well today, 18 years later.

Don’t call yourself the University Tribe of Seminole Indians. Don’t call the grassy knoll for your make-believe ceremony the Iron Arrow “MOUND.” Don’t harass Indigenous people who question if you are actually celebrating NAHM. It’s all really pathetic.

If you’re not Indigenous and don’t bother to acknowledge NAHM or Indigenous land, then you probably shouldn’t be doing Native cosplay. 👎ESPECIALLY during NAHM. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s November, so it’s OK to not acknowledge Native American Heritage Month as long as you hold on to your cultural appropriation.

He was posthumously inducted into the Native American Hall of Fame and was the subject of the “Jesse Ed Davis: Natural Anthem” at the Bob Dylan Center in Tulsa, OK.

He recorded his first solo album ¡Jesse Davis! In1971, featuring Leon Russell, Eric Clapton, and Gram Parsons. He appeared on albums with B.B. King, Jackson Brown, John Lee Hooker, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, and many other rock stars.

He was born and raised in Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in English literature. His musical career took off as a member of Taj Mahal’s band, playing on each of Mahal’s first 4 albums and making a legendary performance on The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus.
