Was he getting death threats from Trumpers?
More to the point, I didn’t see anybody pretending he was ever going to do anything but dismiss given his history. The idea that he’s gonna pretend all critiques are dependent on tribalism is delusional. He’s not gonna get any death threats now.

For example. Powell was a conspiracy nut case best known for undermining Flynn’s plea deal prior to this, not any kind of election law expert, and he says nothing about her credibility as a cooperating witness.

What makes you think the date when a special counsel was appointed matters at all?
I mean, given the investigations we know were ongoing, that Smith inherited. It’s not like they suddenly added more people to the investigation; they only re-org’d it.
