Tbf Corbyn has been singing from the same song sheet for about 50 years and Sultana literally got thrown out of the Labour Party for being consistent.

I do agree that being too honest won't get them anywhere though.

Shhh! We aren't supposed to talk of a viable alternative and should spend our time as centrist hand-wringers just waiting patiently for that promised trickle-down.
December 2, 2025 at 10:12 AM
I know it's a novel concept but do you think that just maybe they are saying what they genuinely believe in rather than what they think we want to hear?
December 2, 2025 at 10:01 AM
Agreed, but obviously that same human nature is present under capitalism too.

The only difference is that the lazy gits and profiteers own the company and you only work for them.
December 2, 2025 at 9:47 AM
The beneficiaries of capitalism don't like doing any form of work themselves so they are perfectly happy for actual workers to uphold the status quo by poo-pooing any talk of alternatives.
December 2, 2025 at 9:42 AM
Yeah, because employees always pull together equally to feather the nest of the shareholders.

I suspect your poor experience was more about human nature than a fundamental failure of Socialism.

Isn't that Max Headroom?

A feud needs two participants, this is just an angry old man shaking his fist at the clouds.

The UK here just dropping by to let you know it's not only in America.

Not sure if that's going to make you feel better or worse though.

Govt hasn't missed anything.

The asylum system (like most of our services) are designed to transfer wealth from the taxpayer to shareholders via the likes of Serco etc.

In that regard, it's working just fine, any tinkering is purely performative to try to win back some ground lost to the right.

This weeks list of people to blame for pissing away a huge majority.

The leader of a political party with a grand total of 4 MPs ✔️

A rabid press that has somehow taken the govt by surprise whilst simultaneously acting exactly as anticipated. ✔️

Gives Corbyn a break I suppose.

I suppose it's difficult to detect the hypocrisy of being a morally bankrupt human rights lawyer given you’re a self-proclaimed centrist punk.
November 27, 2025 at 8:16 AM
It's certainly a well-provided demographic with the Labour government also chasing the same hare.
November 26, 2025 at 3:21 PM
It wouldn’t help their workload, and I can’t see GPs falling over themselves to agree to sign up to that one.

Unfortunately, even bringing it back in-house would be a challenge, once you open the door to vultures like Capita it’s extremely difficult to shut it again.
November 26, 2025 at 3:16 PM
What really pisses me off about Labour's strategy is that it’s not even remotely unprecedented.

We have always been able to peek across the pond to see what’s shortly to be blowing in.

It used to be Big Macs and Knight Rider; now it’s fascism and ultra-neoliberalism.
November 21, 2025 at 8:39 AM
Exactly.

I think it’s quite common to make the mistake of believing that highlighting someone’s shitty traits will put other people with shitty traits off them.
November 21, 2025 at 8:19 AM
I'm sure Farage will be delighted to hear that.
November 12, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Jacob who?
November 11, 2025 at 9:02 AM
I'm waiting on Joey Barton.
November 11, 2025 at 8:57 AM
He bullies the actual government.
November 10, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Who are the far left?
November 10, 2025 at 8:44 PM
How can a manifesto promise to do something immediately still be on track nearly a year and a half after the election?

I usually rate full fact but this looks like it was knocked together by the intern.
November 10, 2025 at 8:23 PM
Are the far left in the room with you right now?
November 10, 2025 at 8:13 PM
Cool, looking forward to Labour doing all the things their leader indicated in his leadership bid.

To be fair it's probably not just all about the Greens, being humiliated by Plaid in Wales might also have been a factor.

Shorts are a perennial attire in the North.

As it should be.
