Former Exeter Uni Climate Vegetation Modelling Postdoc on career break due to illness. Climate, environment, wildlife, sci-fi, history, tortoises. Love reading esp Wodehouse & Pratchett. Recovering from an autoimmune condition called P.O.T.S.
Would that be one of these types of bookshops?

Very rare to get snow in Devon. Looks very pretty but caused mayhem with roads and buses.

Not been around here much due to illness, but thought I'd share this photo of a visitor to my garden yesterday

These optima can be plotted through parameter space & this shows that there is a intersection between them where the forest optimises both biomass in terms of reproduction & tree density in terms of mu. (4/9)

We also found that Demographic Equilibrium Theory will give rise to the total forest biomass being maximised with respect to the amount of productivity allocated to reproduction & the forest density is maximised in terms of the size distribution shape paramter mu. (3/9)

We had previously noticed that at very large scales the shape of forest size distributions in both USA & the Amazon are similar. This shape can be characterised in terms of the ratio of mortality to growth (mu) at a chosen reference tree size.(2/9)

This i a great point the global average may be record breaking but many in US and Europe didn't experience this locally

This is my worry, UK Tories want to make the environment a right-left electoral battleground dividing ppl

Screenshot of great thread from the other place. Sunak falsely claims he stopped UK residents needing 7 bins. This was an idea put forward by govt department but never policy. Was part of plans to standardise recycling, which currebtly varies regionally.
