It's the first real time I wish we had choice like a Baldur's Gate or similar RPG. Like, I know they have to make it lead up to the Deadmines, but imagine if we had the choice to ignore the orders to go after the Defias or maybe even join them. Kinda makes me want to dust off the Warcraft tabletop.

I say this with no ambiguity that I think Cataclysm era Westfall is one of the best stories told in World of Warcraft. And I'm someone who generally enjoys the story of WoW so this isn't coming from a "WoW bad" place.

And Cataclysm Redridge is a pro-war Rambo parody (complete with lines from the movies) that I'm sure killed in 2010, but today is a MASSIVE whiplash from the socially conscious storytelling in the previous zone. Just makes me sad for what could have been if they had a unified vision throughout.

Then you go back to Varian - without any option to tell him this whole thing is HIS fault - and he's just like "OK bro we'll go nuke the Defias again no prob. Now go to Redridge, you're needed there.". Annoyed by what was likely a different writer handling the transition, I go on to the next zone...

In Westfall, it starts with a NCIS parody, but quickly delves into class inequality, anti-war sentiment, authoritarianism and it's effect on the homeless, activism, and how the state reacts to riots and the voice of an angry people. Vanessa Vancleef is an entirely justified revolutionary figure.

Been leveling in classic WoW because I wanna play through Pandaria again and I forgot the tonal whiplash between Westfall and Redridge post Cataclysm. It's clear they weren't written by the same person and I wish they were. In fact, I wish whoever wrote Westfall wrote the whole leveling narrative.

Thinking about the whole WORLD of undiscovered stuff they found under the ice in Antarctica, but we can't actually get to any of it to study up close because that would have massive environmental consequences. One of the last frontiers left on the planet and we have to observe from a distance.

Zoom workshops and sessions over the years have taught me that not everyone had the concept of "You're on time if you're fifteen minutes early." drilled into their head in high school marching band.

It's not a big deal. The 10-15 minutes standing alone in my booth helps me mentally prepare.

Yeah. I was thinking at the very least they'd add an apartment complex like all the other torn down strip malls, but no. They're also building a fire department, which is good, but the pig pen almost cancels it out.

And they're building a POLICE STATION on top of it. This is the store in Phoenix and it and the Tempe one were my childhood Fry's. I think the building for the Tempe Fry's is still standing, but it's empty.

But regardless, a police station? Really?

6 months in of essentially body recomp. I'm sure gains would come faster if I wasn't dieting, but we'll get to that after I hit my goal weight-wise. I think I'm not doing too bad, honestly.

I may be dumb asking this at nearly 4am, but in the new FFT remake, can you play the version with the old visuals while using the new VO track or are you stuck playing the newer version if you want to hear it?

I'm just a sucker for pixels is all.

The weirdos clutching their pearls over the new Silent Hill being about the difficulties women face in a male-dominated society like it's new to the franchise have never played Silent Hill 3.

Hell, even Silent Hill 2 is partly about Angela.

Is it just me, or does the "job application jumpscare" joke feel conservative? Like, people aren't scared of getting a job. The opposite is true, but no one can get or keep one right now. I dunno, it just kinda reeks of "the kids are lazy" despite being a Gen Z thing.

Scale read 250 this morning. That's over 50 lbs down since I started taking this seriously again and 100 down over the last two years. We'll keep going.

I think I'll have some Ben & Jerry's first, though. No point if you can't celebrate.

Just realized I started learning 3D modeling about 5 days ago. Really hit the ground running, huh? That's ADHD for you I guess.

Mostly finished marquee! The neon, lines on the now showing boards, and the sign are all 3D elements. It was a lot of work, but I'm glad I did that instead of having them be flat textures. Also, I had to put the Camelback Mountains in there. They're too iconic of the AZ desert.
