This may not answer the watercooler question, but this newsletter is pretty spot-on as far as data is concerned. Looks past Top 15s and uses Luminate and others to determine how a show is really doing.

call the pwga and see if you might have some reserve credits to apply. I have discovered in the past that I overearned & had some excess credits that covered me on years that I didn’t earn enough in that specific year for it.

Can relate. W/the work & excitement we put into it, it's deflating. But our job is find the idea that intrigues us, find those who believe in it, find our yes. The stories of hit shows that survived multiple passes all over town, that one person said yes to are countless. The song remains the same.

It's seeped over to development too. The fear coming off execs and pods is palpable--like they're looking for the surest bet (big IP, big hook, body drops) to keep their deal, their jobs.

They'll step over 6 projects they personally love to get to an NCIS/Nicole Kidman-family-w/murder secrets show.

Kristen Welker is as much of a stooge as Chuck Todd was. That show hasn't been the same since Russert.

^ If you live in or near Dallas, the name of the restaurant is La Comida. It's in Oak Cliff, roughly at Beckley and Zang. It's truly a neighborhood restaurant and the guys who own it, Ivan and Mario Urtecho, are lovely human beings who get to know every regular customer. Tell them Matt sent you.
