The JS to Laravel guy. 👋 Let's enjoy building things again. DevRel at Laravel. Educator and creator. Husband and girl dad × 2.
Take the first 10 minutes of your day, before you do anything else, and just write.

Or, in my case, write by talking.

It's helped me frame my mindset for the day. It's helped me feel more productive. It's helped me hate mornings a little less.

Today's episode out now.

I'm trying something new.

I've never been good at writing but I like talking through topics on my mind.

So I figured I would create my own "audio blog" of sorts.

It's a different side of me. The topics might be all over the place. But it's me.

Good maker's morning.

Got me.

I talked to a lot of people at Laracon.

Almost everyone said the SAME THING about why they come back (or why they already know they'll be back).

So I made a video talking about it (and some of my favorite things announced at Laracon 👀)

hint: so many things.

As someone who loves Livewire, I often hear from folks new to the Laravel ecosystem (or curious about it) what they THINK Livewire is and what problems it solves.

But usually there are some things they get wrong.

So I made a video about three things Laravel Livewire is NOT.

I feel like I was pretty early to the AI game when it comes to using it for code and my day-to-day life.

AI changes fast though.

And even with how fast things change, I found myself using the same AI workflow for the past 3+ months to code, create, and more.

So I made a video.

I know this doesn't mean much coming from the PHP guy, but writing modern PHP is actually enjoyable.

With the tooling we have in 2025, it gets harder and harder to write bad PHP code.

Plus, I'm not gonna lie... I think I found the perfect collection of tools.

New video out.

When sales team promises a feature and engineering realizes they actually have to build it.

So this is the SF people keep telling me about. I don’t see any `npm i ai` billboards so I think they are fake.

New space. Endless possibilities. 🥹

And then this was two nights ago. I don’t have a problem or anything. Other than the high school order only would cost me around $7

I took a quick run at building Roundest (from @t3.gg and his latest 1 App 5 Stacks video) in Laravel and the TALL stack.

There's a ton of optimizations that I could make re: caching, initial pair fetch, voting, etc.

Oh and it's hosted on Laravel Cloud. Video coming soon. 👀

First video to pass 100k views on my channel. 🥹
This is your weekly (or daily if you follow Aaron Francis anywhere but here) reminder to just do things.

This video was recorded in my garage on an iPhone with a green screen and crickets chirping every 3 seconds.

composer run dev is so last week.

Especially now that Aaron Francis (rip no @) came out with this "php artisan solo" TUI hotness.

I had to make a video about it and update my starter kit.

Always remember. Never forget.

I’m trying to experiment with the types of content I put out.

So I made a video walking through the Arc browser announcement and share my thoughts on why it might not be the best thing ever.

Also, totally getting high school dating flashbacks.

Check! Got that.

I'm definitely in the "how do I follow in the Aaron Francis multimillion media company footsteps" and so I'm dreaming of something bigger.

Still don't know what that is just yet though ha!
