If they ever get around to building this thing, it should be bulldozed on Day 1 of a new administration. No messing around, no hemming and hawing about procedure or costs. Order heavy equipment in and start knocking it down immediately, as surely as an overthrown tyrant's statues would be torn down.

Thriving in independent media for 25 years, without a) getting hoovered into some larger media org & subsequently axed, b) getting ruined by some hedge fund guy, c) falling afoul of any short-lived "pivot to video" style trends, or d) going broke...

... is a genuinely remarkable achievement! Kudos.

"things happen"
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Serious question: does anyone really expect Trump to comply fully with the resolution, even if he signs it, and not instruct Bondi to filter out problematic documents? Does anyone seriously expect her not to violate the law? And is there even a mechanism to monitor and remedy that eventuality?

Breaking: Leader Schumer says he will immediately move — TODAY — to pass the Epstein resolution in the Senate by unanimous content after it passes in the House.

Trump doesn’t have to call on House Republican to vote to release the file.

Trump can order Bondi and Patel to release the files. Tomorrow.

The question is, has he already ordered Bondi and Patel to destroy some of the files after they went through them months ago.

It’s useful for people of my generation to be reminded that this wasn’t that long ago. Ruby Bridges isn’t just still alive—she’s only 71, not ancient!
65 years ago on Nov. 14, little Ruby Bridges was escorted into an all-white elementary school in New Orleans. Norman Rockwell, renowned for blissful depictions of Americana, did this remarkable painting for Look magazine. Printed as a double page, over-size spread, it's his masterpiece.

The filibuster has become a fascinating litmus test of the chasm separating D senators from their voters. It's not just a disagreement. Ending the filibuster is now close to an article of faith among D voters; for the Senators it's like abolishing habeas or trial by jury. Unthinkable, unamerican.

Caving to Trump and getting nothing in return will only bring these numbers down further.

It’s a historic failure—and an opportunity to push for changes to the electoral system.
