I was getting a degree in data science during the COVID years and we extensively used VAERS data in 1 of my classes. I recall my professor repeatedly telling us that we should draw absolutely NO conclusions from VAERS data because it’s just people reporting things that haven’t been verified.

It's difficult to imagine now -- much like it was difficult for me to imagine during Bush II in the wake of the disastrous Iraq war, the disastrous Katrina response, the disastrous economy -- but the second these monsters are out of power, the soothing cries of "look forward, not back" will begin.

Like there are Freudians who seem like very nice people and who do clever scholarship but it will always be a red flag for me. Especially in psychology 🤫, but literary studies also gets 🙄.
