When a friend said "Jenn, this book reminds me of you" Like Gale, I took that with the sincerity and good will that I assume was intended. And wow. How it portrays the writing world, cultural appropriation, publishers, writers thoughts... sometimes I have to take a break because it hits so hard!

As an Asian in New Zealand Aotearoa, I decided it's finally time to start knowing more about NZ and Maori history. So far... it just makes me madder what this govt is doing... (My history classes in high school covered Tudor period, Springboks tours and uh.. WWI and II)
