It's Jackson. She's on our side. It's strategic. It's the shortest possible delay, to give time for the Appeals Court to make their decision permanent. The only alternative would have been to send it to all of SCOTUS, who probably would have stayed the decision far longer.

NPR's morning edition today. Aside from its news summary and long interviews w/ pundits saying move to the center, here's the time breakdown seen on the app:

Wins in Va. and NJ: 21 min., interviewing both candidates
Cal's Prop 50, 11 min.
Mamdani's victory: 3 minutes, only the news summary clip.

Chuckles Schumer has shown us that his support for a foreign country's ongoing genocide is much stronger than his support for the Democratic Party. He should be removed from his leadership position, primaried in the next election, and go live with his imaginary Baileys in the Hamptons.

Not a fan of any spectator sports, but i highly recommend Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, by Ben Fountain, for an inside look but for so much more. (Ignore the movie, which sucked.)

Maybe we should take away their toys -- the horrendous weaponry -- and stop allowing it.

Even NYT knows "Trump bad" gets us nowhere. But hey, brings in $, to them ironically more important than stopping Trump. (NYT now savvy about paywalls, hence through a different site.)

Even militantly centrist NYT seems to get it, above the fold. Dems could be pushing bold ideas -- hugely taxing billionaires, single-payer health care where we're all treated equally -- that huge majorities from all sides support. Instead it's "let me tell you how bad Trump is." Recipe for failure.
