Also … to everyone, if you’ve not come across the coat of hopes yet, the people behind it have vowed to keep walking until there’s no need. It set off from Newhaven a while ago to get to COP26 that was held in Glasgow and was back this weekend 🥰

We had our Everybody’s Haven march and celebration at the weekend. The rain clouds parted for just long enough, and more people than we ever imagined turned up to refuse the current extreme right narrative. It was joyous! There’s more good people than bad still, and we have to keep fighting 🥰

Newhaven Stand up to Racism, Culture Connect and Hospitable Environment march and rally for hope and solidarity. We’ve had a plague of the flaggers recently, but we’ve got most of them down, and then today! Today was fab! We have a great community. We won’t let the racists win.

Today’s the day… we have so many great musicians joining us and the Coat of Hopes is coming and there will be drummers and dancers and all the beautiful banners made by local children and their families. Come and join us if you’re in Sussex. Everyone is welcome…

For anyone in East Sussex (and everywhere too) come to Newhaven on 1st November. There’s our bonfire parade and fireworks in the evening too. Should be a great day.

Truly! I watched our local Martens, swifts and a couple of swallows gather and stock up before setting off for France recently. First step in 6000 miles for some of them!

Local by election in my town council ward yesterday… we have had Reform chucking money at it, and the “Sussex Patriots” group putting flags everywhere…and…too many for Reform, but no Tory candidate, so it’s been tense! 🎉🎉

We (community groups in Newhaven) are doing this! And we’re joining up with towns around us, trying to organise positive events as well as the counter protests. Just got to keep on keeping on!!

Good morning Guy, and good morning ORCs. I spent a happy Saturday leafleting against Reform with our local Stand Up to Racism group. We have a by election coming up in our local council ward. Today though, it’s back to the studying😃 Hope Monday is as good as is possible for everyone😎
