I write science fiction, fantasy, and (mostly) lgbt romance. I read *lots* of things.

Started on Usenet and mailing lists, added LJ and IRC, moved from LJ to DW, mostly on Mastodon.

At least this time they left a card saying where they'd left it, and had even taken it to the correct neighbour given as an alternative, instead of taking it to a completely different neighbour while claiming on the tracking email that they'd put it in my own blue bin.

Every time you mention your muse I have a mental image of *that* Oglaf cartoon. You know the one...

I'm old enough that when I was a kid "home medical information" books not many years old had the symptoms and treatment of various diseases that had not yet been driven into only occasional outbreaks - and *detailed* info on rubella in pregnancy. Vaccines - too successful for their own good.

Peeved that the Van Dieman I really wanted is now out of stock everywhere, including their own website. I'd considered buying some direct, but had put it off for a couple of weeks. Always the way. Anyway, I don't need any more inks, at least not to actually use. Got a lifetime supply already.

I should start writing again to justify the amount of room taken up by all this writing equipment. Alas, AI intellectual property theft combined with the "be a Real Writer (TM) *and* make money by flooding Amazon with AI slop" encouraged by RWA and NaNoWriMo is too discouraging.

To be fair, some of these were "please take these off my hands!" loot from the Eastercon meet, so had been used before I got them. However, that just means they've been sitting on my desk since Easter waiting for me to do something with them. This is why I need to stay off AliExpress.

Also, I have lived in the land of Black Friday, and it was a day, with a specific reason for existing, that could reasonably be extended to a long weekend. It is now a "week" extending from Friday to Sunday a week later. Personally I preferred the "Only 13 shopping weeks to Christmas!" nonsense.

That Supreme Court decision gave them licence to do so - any complaints under the Equality Act will be met with a bland "but the Supreme Court said that's the appropriate language now".
