I just finished listening to Pagan Kennedy's "The Secret History of the Rape Kit" (read beautifully by Claire Danes) and absolutely loved it. Though topically different, it reminded me of another fav: "To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music, and Mystery of Connie Converse."

2) Bog (1979): Dynamite fishing done stirred up something prehistoric in the bog. Insect? Fish? Walking cancer?! #31HorrorFilms31Days

Leaning into this account's cobwebs by returning for #31HorrorFilms31Days
1) Arcadian: Can Nic Cage save his sons from post-apocalyptic monsters? What do you think?

Grab your butterfly net & achieve true weirdo status by running after birds in downtown Chicago! It's the best! Repost from X. Visit the CBCM website for info: www.birdmonitors.net/Volunteer.php

My internet went out mid-Autopsy of Jane Doe yesterday & hasn’t been heard from since, which is a shame b/c I was enjoying it. So, I’ve resorted to a DVD I got for free.
30) Static: Shockingly okay home-invasion flick that takes a sappy turn.

29) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974): Welp, I’m late to the party but I’ve finally seen it. Anyone else delighted to see that the cattle truck driver’s real name is Ed Guinn? Coincidence??? #31HorrorFilms31Days

28) Hour of the Wolf: What just happened? I think I liked it. #31HorrorFilms31Days

27) The Royal Hotel: 2 young women run out of money while traveling in Australia & get jobs tending bar in remote mining town. The toxic masculinity is off the charts, & that makes this terrifying. #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 29, 2023 at 1:42 PM
26) The Empty Man: Urban legend gains steam after several teens die after blowing into glass bottles. This part was great! It lost me after turning it all into a cult thing, though. #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 28, 2023 at 2:22 PM
25) The Tingler: All hail Chicago's Music Box Theater, which showed this classic "In Percepto." As an obsessed scientist searches for the cause of "fear tension," shocks and tinglers were let loose in the theater itself. #31HorrorFilms31Days

24) V/H/S/85: I didn't like it! I know I'm wrong, okay? This dude was all right, though. #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 26, 2023 at 8:01 PM
23) They Live in the Grey: A decent Sixth Sense riff in which a CPS worker is can see ghosts, and there's one involved with her latest case. #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 26, 2023 at 7:53 PM
22) Caveat: Man’s babysitting gig turns out to be for a mentally unstable adult. On an uninhabited island. Oh, and he has to wear a harness chained to the basement floor. Easy money, am I right? #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 26, 2023 at 1:47 PM
21) Chernobyl Diaries: General consensus seems to be that this movie is terrible, but you know what? It's really not bad. It used its setting well and didn't shove CGI mutants down your throat, though I did like this fish. #31HorrorFilms31Days

19 & 20) Aatank & Shark Exorcist: Shark double feature like no other. One is a fun Bollywood romp & the other is possibly the worst movie I’ve ever seen. #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 23, 2023 at 2:30 PM
18) Lake of the Dead: A moody little number with a sprinkling of incest in which a peg-legged ghost possesses people & lures them to their deaths. #31HorrorFilms31Days
October 23, 2023 at 2:21 PM
17) Dark Night of the Scarecrow: Vigilante justice gets it wrong, but the ghost of the man they killed gets it very right. Loved! #31HorrorFilms31Days
