Die STIKO empfiehlt die Impfung gegen HPV inzwischen für Mädchen und Jungen im Alter von 9 bis 14 Jahren.

Spätestens bis zum Alter von 17 Jahren sollen versäumte Impfungen nachgeholt werden. Je früher geimpft wird, desto größer ist der Nutzen.

Manche Kassen zahlen die Impfungen bei Erwachsenen.

2024: „Wer gerade zum Beispiel einen Förderantrag beim BMBF eingereicht habe, über den noch nicht entschieden wurde, werde nun von öffentlichen politischen Äußerungen wohl eher absehen.“
