I genuinely love The Game Awards and have never understood the Geoff hate online.
I think it’s just that he’s the easiest person to point to when anything you dislike happens, as he’s the face of it all. But I’m grateful that he puts in so much effort to give us a show like this.

It kinda depends on what Valve wants from this thing. If they’re trying to compete on the console front, then anything over $600 is a mistake. $500 would be the sweet spot, I think.
But they may be looking at this thing as another Steam Deck situation. Which isn’t trying to be a competitor.

Yup, I think I’d probably feel differently about some things if I’d beaten it when I was growing up. Especially with how *fresh* it would’ve been at that time.
It’s one of my brother’s favorite games ever, but he’s also 6 years older than me and beat it many times as a kid.

Yeah, Split Fiction was probably my number 7.
It’s weird because I feel like it came and went pretty quickly. But it’s the type of game that everyone loves if they play it + It Takes Two won.
KCD2 is hard because it’s more hardcore & I’m unsure if its core audience is represented in the voters.

I feel pretty confident about the first four. The last two is where it gets shaky.
Others in contention were Ghost of Yotei, Split Fiction, and Death Stranding 2. Maybe Blue Prince could squeeze in there, but I feel like its audience was too small & niche for the *big* award.

I liked Rebirth a lot more than Remake, personally. Although, I don’t have the context of original FFVII since I’ve not played it.
I do prefer them to go back to a more linear structure, like Remake, for the next game, tho. The open world Ubisoft-style checklist was the worst part of Rebirth, imo.
