One of the many reasons I left Louisiana in 2002 was because I knew a big, climate-change generated storm would flood the city. It happened a lot sooner than I expected.

Katrina weakened before landfall and old levee system should have held. But the US Army Corps of Engineers lied for years about the reliability of their hurricane protection.
