I'm pretty sure everyone should be moving to being hosted on non-Bsky servers because even though that won't prevent Bsky from suspending access it does prevent them from cutting us off from our history/account, right?
Yes @aaron.bsky.team, suspending Sarah Kendzior could be because of her content but as you have shown your moderation is inconsistent and opaque. In this case you are censoring a journalist and political writer. Do the right thing and reinstate her account or risk ending up being like X and Musk.
False attribution. If a person is suspended it is because of their identity? Could it not be because of their content? I wrote about it here aaron.leaflet.pub/3m52nqqmk322v

In a rare case of Substack notes usefulness, I just learned that Sarah Kendzior (author of They Knew and a brilliant writer) got bounced from Bluesky. What the hell? new @sarahkendzior.bsky.social

This article is required reading.

When I was writing my space opera trilogy a few years ago, I decided never to use the word "race" to refer to alien species. I used "species," "peoples," "civilizations," etc.

I've also tried to stop saying "human race" in casual conversation.
The far right is obsessed with Lord of the Rings and Musk keeps posting about "hobbits" because modern scientific racism owes more to fantasy worlds and gaming systems than genetic science, and they see both as effective mediums for right-wing propaganda www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

@murray.senate.gov, you and every dem need to resign and let new blood take your place. You and your colleagues are a disgrace for letting this happen.
We're debating on the government funding package right now and every single Republican voted against a Democratic amendment to pass a clean, one-year extension of the ACA tax credits.

Republicans just don't care about your health care.

DHS lies constantly, and this has been confirmed in court. There is no evidence that any shots were fired at federal agents. The fact that the claim has no known basis in fact should be out front here.

Department of Homeland Security agents were shot at during an immigration enforcement operation in Chicago Saturday, the agency said — as federal agents were also accused of using pepper spray and flash-bang grenades against protesters across the Chicago area.

The International Olympic Committee is set to ban trans and intersex women from competition. This is despite the fact that for 20 years, the IOC has allowed trans athletes to compete and only 1 has ever competed and none have ever won a medal.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Supreme Court issues emergency order temporarily blocking full SNAP food aid payments.

Imagine making a point of going to court with the goal of starving children. That’s what everyone involved in requesting this emergency stay is doing.

Ghoulish.
Tesla shareholders are enablers of a self proclaimed Nazi. We need to continue protesting and boycotting #Tesla until Musk is fired or quits (along with a revocation of his pay package) or Tesla goes under.

🎶 And we'll never rest again until every Nazi dies. 🎶

I know it should not surprise me after 3 presidential races with Trump, but I am still surprised and disgusted that a huge portion of the NY population (>40% in the mayoral election) voted for a sexual predator.
Apparently, it is rude to speak the truth.

I sincerely hope Democrats pay attention to tonight’s results across the country. They won’t learn anything but still. Maybe. People are excited by change and original campaigns and bold ideas and candidates under the age of 50!

It's rude to say something that is demonstrably true.
Dick Cheney was responsible for the murders of 4.5 million people through his war crimes & warmongering imperialism.

It is a shame he didn’t die sooner.

Rot in piss, you genocidal monster. hell cannot burn hot enough for your lecherous scabby ass.

Republicans really want the poor to suffer. They want to take away your insurance and SNAP and not allow grocery stores to help those that receive SNAP benefits.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email
