I generally like his writing, not always agree, but he is such great source for the field. In this case, I do hope that people also read other commentary.

The US national security strategy is basically saying we are going to support the fascists in Europe, and we want Europe to become firmly white nationalist for the future so we can stay friends.
The new National Security Strategy of the U.S. contains some pretty explicit white nationalism:

“We want to support our allies in preserving the freedom and security of
Europe, while restoring Europe’s civilizational self-confidence and Western identity.”

american reporters, you've got to call bullshit on this. vance, purveyor of hate/propaganda, wants the public to believe rules on, for instance, transparency in advertising and forms of deception on X are censorship.

don't fall for it.

The committee should investigate “whether the European Commission has been sufficiently equipped and forceful in its enforcement” of the rules to “prevent Big Tech from unilaterally imposing global standards that override EU regulatory goals,” the document reads.“
The second-largest group in the European Parliament is moving to set up an inquiry committee to investigate the EU’s enforcement of digital rules, according to a document obtained by POLITICO.
Socialists push for formal inquiry into enforcement of EU digital rules
Parliament committee would investigate whether EU has done enough to rein in Big Tech.
