After watching the last few of Chapelle’s specials, I felt like I had been chastised by an angry fire breathing preacher. It isn’t comedy, it is moral outrage and the threat of damnation. All because he wants to make fun of trans people and smoke on stage. No thanks, take back the Twain award.

Gun reform is needed, but it won’t stop most killings in America. We have long known that crime is directly linked to poverty. If we do nothing about a class of people that are stuck in poverty, then the violence will not stop. We need a reckoning on poverty and under education and we need it now.
get fed, educated, have medical care, and have hope for their future. Not just some kids, not just “our” kids, but all kids. The present needs our focus, not some past that we can’t hope to understand or recapture.
We did not die on the battlefields of Gettysburg. It was not our blood that was spilled. We don’t even know those people and have very little in common with them culturally. Ancestry is a fun hobby, but it is not what shapes us. We live now! We need to take care of now. Make sure that kids
I am tired of fighting past battles. I am tired of trying to legislate the past. Who cares? Who cares if you great great grandfather was a pioneer. Why do we spend time on this when kids go to bed hungry? Kids that are actually alive today! History can guide us, but it does not entitle us.
What is the RSQ? With and without the US? I think this chart would look the same if you replaced gun ownership with poverty rate. Just a guess. I think gun violence is hopelessness and availability of guns. We could try to go after the hopelessness issue?
