Thank you. This is even available on the "book streaming service" I subscribe to, so I will definitely at least save it and consider it.

Tacky tractor? 😁

Don't Panic, Linnunradan käsikirjasta ja Douglas Adamsista on tietokirja, ei hänen mielikuvituksensa tuotetta. Norse Mythology on vanhoj myyttejä uudelleenkerrottuna.

Good Omens, yksi ylitse kaiken minulle, siinä oli Terry Pratchett mukana.

However, as my own little protest, when further down in this project his name should be stitched, I will leave it out and fill that area with the background colour only.

You're probably right (although I hope you're not), but I still don't have to like it. I merely expressed my own opinions about the book: There were many things I liked (gave it 4/5 hearts) and some things I didn't.

I know, but it was one of the things that I didn't quite like in the book and therefore wanted to mention. I have also read quite many books by US authors where guns weren't as omnipresent or as accepted.
Totally agree on Butler's prescience, though, although things aren't quite as bad, yet.

Helmet Reading Challenge 2025 has the prompt "The book takes place in an era you would not want to live in", and I find the fact that a book written 30 years ago that is set in my current era fits this prompt (because of actual current events) quite ironic.

Thank you! I am already following it, though, but I appreciate your tip all the same.

What is important while reading is enjoying yourself or getting what you crave from it, whether that's entertainment, learning, relaxation, escape, excitement... Reading should not feel like a chore.

I guess this is enough for now. Will be posting about books and reading quite regularly.

Although I said (and meant what I said) that the number of books one reads in a year is not important, I still like to have a number goal as well (purely to motivate myself). It's currently 50. It used to be higher (100), but that was before I was working full time.

Since last year I have set my own reading goals which have to do with diversifying my reading even further. A new goal for this year is to read books with good/accurate disability representation, preferably by disabled authors themselves. Suggestions are welcome (fiction, but not romance).

Reading is not a competition. The number of books one reads in a year is not significant. Still, I like to have some reading goals. In earlier years I used to take part in different reading challenges and will probably take part in one this year again (after a short break).

My first books of 2025.

One to get background information before seeing Six the Musical in March.

Another to get tips for mending, a topic that I posted about earlier.

Both good examples of how my interests intertwine.

Will not share all, but here's a final one. My favourite soft stretch jeans were actually beyond repair, so I used my (now adult) child's old childhood stretchy trousers (two pairs) to make them into a skirt. Pink/peach front and blue back.

Will probably share future projects here.

These are just frayed cuffs I mended. Also the hem on this one should be mended, as it has started to fray as well.
