One of the harmful myths about drug & alcohol use is that someone needs to "hit rock bottom" before they can get help.

The reality: Early intervention saves lives. Recovery can begin at ANY stage. There is no 'right' time.

Recovery starts with reaching out, and it looks different for everyone.

September is Recovery Month.

We believe that recovery should be on your terms.

Recovery doesn't look the same for everyone. It can be about safer use, reducing harm, rebuilding relationships, finding stability, or abstinence.

Whatever recovery looks like, it deserves recognition and celebration.

Results Day affects more than just students.

For some, the path here has been more complicated by drugs or alcohol, their own use, or someone else's.

You are not defined by today's results, or by your past.

We believe in meeting people where they are, without judgment.

Our CEO Rondine Molinaro shared her personal story with our Birchwood residents.

"spending time with people who use our services is invaluable. It lets me know what we are doing well & what we can improve on, but it also gives me time to sit & share thoughts about wider systems, policy & stigma"

Michael Mullins, one of the incredible GDAS volunteers with lived experience, reminds us why respectful reporting and language around drug and alcohol use is so crucial.

Michael's powerful words highlight how the media and society can either support recovery or create barriers to it.
