I'm surprised by how many of these names are familiar. I would have guessed that the most-cited scholars would be people I've never heard of, writing about un-sexy technical topics.

At least it's not actively misleading, like "defund the police". (And yes, that was promoted as a slogan by some activists, even if it was never mainstream.)

Was "it takes a village" ever a proper slogan, or was it just something that someone said that Republicans then repeated for years? That's a sincere question. I don't remember where it came from.

Clinton had some corrupt pardons, but "since Clinton" implies that Clinton had more than Trump, and I'm not going to believe that without proof. I remember hearing about Mark Rich constantly, and off the top of my head I can think of dozens of Trump pardons that were far worse than that one.
