I liked it a lot.

Megalopolis was the most fascinatingly bad film I’ve seen since The Last Movie, I’m pretty sure that film earned a Director’s Guild membership for Cocaine.

I'm very skeptical of Spotify numbers in general, but that's certainly the one thing off the album that gained traction... it's still a marked decline from Blinding Lights in every way though.

And again, I'm a fan! I hope his next album is all killer no filler.

To that point - Taylor Swift's new 12 track album charted the full top 12 slots week one, and it wasn't a critical success at ALL - but it was new content from someone with a rabid fanbase. Blinding Lights-era Weeknd wasn't in the same stratosphere, but he was BIG, and now feels like a legacy act.

Things have absolutely changed over the last decade, both in how new music is consumed and how old songs go viral. But we're not completely in a post-Taylor/Kendrick/Wallen era, where a superstar artist can't drop an album that rules the world for awhile. The Weeknd tried that this year, but failed.

That's not really Hurry Up Tomorrow streams though, is it? The album underperformed at launch and fell off the charts nearly immediately.

I'm a big fan of a lot of his music, but the new album was TERRIBLE. One of the worst albums of the decade so far.

Honestly, I'd rather watch a -1 star match than a +2-3 star match any day. I'd certainly remember it longer.

With that said, the film did not need a $50 million budget. That's gross excess that bit them in the ass, and it's exactly why films made for art are an exceedingly rare thing for studios to attempt.
November 8, 2025 at 2:49 AM
There are films made with profit in mind, and films made with art in mind. Some films are both, most are not. This was never going to be a blockbuster, and that should be okay, only the American film industry demands everything be an A-tier superhero movie to consider it a success...

It was pretty galling that he had to post that on the day WWE had Cody doing spin work talking about how awesome WWE's injury policy is. I hate that they're going to treat him even worse because of it, but I appreciate that he had the courage to speak up. Fuck WWE.

So the question now is that since they fired him with cause, do they try to enforce some kind of draconian no-compete clause that extends past his injury recover time?

Amazingly, I got both the Daredevil and Avengers in really great condition as part of an incredible short box my dad bought at a garage sale in the 2000s.

"Gail wants the WHAT?"

It’s not much, but I found a set of Marvel trading cards from the 90s that I always wanted as a kid… I bought cheap picture frames and did all the measuring and spacing on them myself. I’m really happy with the results.

Is he related to Stacy? I might have a theory.

David Zaslav might be the single most incompetent executive in television history, and that covers a LOT of ground.

That looks so cool!

Fwiw, mine would be

The Thing
Poltergeist
Alien
Silence of the Lambs (if you count it, if not Midsommer as an honourable mention)

Very solid list. I don’t think Blair Witch has aged super well, but it was huge for what it was. 10/10 no notes on the other three.
