But Trump, RFK Jr. and Republicans in Congress cheered when they slashed funding for Medicaid by nearly $1 trillion, which will have devastating impacts on kids’ access to quality health care.

Medicaid covers nearly 40 million children. There is nothing in this MAHA report that will support our children’s health the way that Medicaid does.

Thank you! And thanks for including me in such distinguished company. Those are some of my favorite books.

We asked Families USA staff to recommend their favorite summer reads. These books relate to the work we do amplifying the stories of people’s health care experiences, advocating for affordable health care and ensuring that health equity is at the forefront of everything we do.

Noone voted, nor campaigned for, the shredding of our social safety net, but that's exactly what President Trump and leaders in Congress have done. They made promises to the American people that they would not touch Medicaid, while making the BIGGEST cut in Medicaid's history.

It will be impossible to hide the devastation from cutting more than a trillion dollars from our health care system.

It's not just access to health care but good paying jobs gone as well.

BUDGETS ARE ABT PRIORITIES

IF your #1 priority is tax breaks for wealthy people, you ✅

IF you'd rather not increase the debt by $4.5T, then you vote ❌

IF you'd rather not do largest Medicaid cut in history, you vote ❌

IF you'd rather not hike energy rates, you vote ❌

If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

HIGH DRAMA IN THE SENATE.

There are 50 no votes on proceeding to reconciliation. Murkowski, Rick Scott, Mike Lee have not voted. One more no vote stalls the bill.

Collins voted aye.

Tillis, Ron Johnson and Rand Paul have voted no.

BIG NEWS: The Senate parliamentarian ruled that several of the harmful provisions of Republicans’ big budget bill don’t comply with the rules. Now it's time for the Senate to stop the rush to rewrite & remake our health system over a weekend, and instead work to lower health care costs for families.

Logging is a key driver of Maine's economy. Maine produces 90% of our nation's lobster supply, plus other food we all need. Those fishers, loggers and farmers? Nearly a third use Medicaid for health care.

Our nation depends on Maine workers and Maine's workers depend on Medicaid. #HandsOffMedicaid
