The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

we really haven’t talked enough about how the ny post tried to make a major scandal out of Mamdani calling his father’s cousin aunt
What flavors are awful? Never met a Pringle I didn't like!
They have one in Edgewater, in the Mitsuwa shopping center! Worth coming out for the food court and then the shops.
chill, buddy. I value the work Matt does, even if he not's always right (and who is?) I've been thinking about this topic generally for awhile and this was the perfect illustration.
This is not a dig at Matt, whose work I enjoy! But come on, people. What are you still doing over there???
It is long past time for New Jersey political reporters to get off Twitter.

Thanks for reminding me why it feels like there's little coverage of the suffering. Of course people hide it 💔

Shame over poverty is such that people reflexively hide it. I had one pair of pants for years, and we lost our house to bankruptcy. But my mother and stepfather in the same town (with whom I didn't live) had no idea. So many people, barely hanging on, keeping it to themselves, now without food.
The GoFundMe platform is doing more to fight hunger in America than Republicans in Congress. Dystopian shit.
The group owner had already turned off the AI stuff but it popped back up today anyway!!!!!
I have mixed feelings about this - a baby that hasn't eaten in 24hrs is a "call 911" situation, that's not a fair fake scenario to throw at anybody
I don't need an AI bot to post inaccurate or inappropriate stuff in our local FB group. That's what the real people are for 😜

I probably feel more comfortable than most with my kids being online, being such an unrepentant internet troll, but I am keeping my kids FAR AWAY from the AI-chatbots
So cute! I'll get in touch, always looking for Broncos stuff

There’s a deep question here: the extent to which we weight the reasons voters give for their attitudes. My sense- based on the cognitive political psychology literature- is that we probably should be skeptical of the explanations people give about why they feel as they do.
I guess I don't really understand the tweet. We aren't *guessing* that people are anxious about the economy, they are telling us that in polls. Voters say inflation is bad now & angry at incumbents, and they didn't say that in 2017-2022. Other things can act on presidential unpopularity too.
Trump becomes unpopular in 2017: ????

Trump stays unpopular in 2018-2020: ????

Biden becomes unpopular in 2021: ????

Biden stays unpopular in 2022-23: CLEARLY INFLATION

Biden stays unpopular in 2024: HANGOVER FROM INFLATION??

Trumps is unpopular in 2025: PROBABLY STILL INFLATION??
