This shit happens. I was absolutely creeped out on a Delta flight from Auckland last Decmber. Groping aka hands up and down my arms and leg. Delta did everything right. Flight controller moved him and said he would turn the flight around if he came near me.

@belindaarch.bsky.social and I have written a letter from economists regarding PEPFAR. Please sign and share with your network. Only economist signatures right now (for more focused impact). Once signed, we will share with the administration, congress, + the media. #econsky

This is highly relevant today. While we can debate the merits of specific 'DEI' policies—some may indeed be misguided—it’s undeniable that racial discrimination persists in this country. The evidence is clear for those willing to engage with it!

So impressed by @chloeneast.bsky.social who happens to be a Davis grad :)
I spoke to Bloomberg TV about why Mass Deportations won't create more jobs for US-born workers.

Honestly, I'm proud of myself for how much more "camera-ready" I've become in just a few months of doing media.

THIS.

My heart is breaking for LA, the city I spent 6 years in and which gave me the life I have. I have been crying on and off the last two days. I have friends there who have lost everything.
From the very moment these fires in Los Angeles broke out, President Biden has been there for California.

I am deeply grateful for the President's continued support and commitment to help contain these wildfires and provide Californians the resources they need.

We must do that digitization in full historical and social context. Who recorded that data? What was their purpose? I think a failure to seriously consider the totality of the historical context will lead us very far astray. Serious issues of inference must be addressed.

The academic job market can be very stressful. If you're struggling to cope or just need someone to talk to or vent your frustrations, feel free to reach out - shared pain is half the pain. You're not alone in this. #EconJMP #EconSky
