A typical Saturday in NE Portland with folx flocking to their favorite farmers’ market vendors for their weekly fix of locally grown produce. BTW, anyone with family or friends in the city knows all is well here, so spread the word not to believe the lies coming from the administration. Thx!❤️🙌❤️

Fall is cabbage season and that means it’s sauerkraut time! Picked up two good-sized heads, then shaved them into shreds, salted and packed them into my new crock. They’ll be weighted to submerge in their juices and sit in the basement to ferment. Can’t wait!🥰

An extreme heat warning was in effect for Portland, but I had five pounds of Bartlett pears from a generous neighbor's tree rapidly ripening on my counter, half of them ready to tip into that past-their-peak stage. A quick batch of Ginger Pear jam to the rescue: goodstuffnw.com/2025/08/an-i...

Sometimes you don't want to tell people about a favorite place because then it'll get "too popular." But in the case of Kitchen Culture on SE Foster, it's just too good to keep it to myself: www.goodstuffnw.com/2025/07/kitc...
