We also watched the documentary Any Other Way: The Jacky Shane Story. It was beautiful, touching and sad. Jacky was an extraordinary trans R&B singer in the 1960s who disappeared for decades both from her fans and family members. I've had her hit song from 1963 playing in my head all week.

Watched a couple of things recently that lingered for days afterwards. One was Train Dreams on Netflix. Really beautiful movie and so is the song that accompanied its credits

My mood went from glum to grateful in past days. I wasn't even sure I'd create a sale in my art shop this year. But I did and I appreciate the orders I received so much. I feel strongly that for society to work well you want doctors and teachers to be happy. Right? The people your kids spend all day with and the people you go to when you are unwell. Quebec politicians need to fix their own f’ed up system and stop blaming the people caught up in it.
