A little bit about me: full stack software dev who loves the frontend, a disabled activist for #Insulin4All (but I care about lots of disability justice issues!), an avid fan of fantasy novels, baking, and IndyCar racing, proud cat mom. That pretty much sums up what I tend to talk about online!
I was doing so good at not spending money this weekend, but…I caved a few times today 😂

Pleased to say mostly from small businesses (got my bread baking classes from KAB! Ordered a bunch of things from the Cookie Countess…are you sensing a theme?)

I have to say, I really miss my cats and my bed. Can’t wait to be home on Sunday morning

Have hooked my mom on GBBO by forcing her to watch Christmas specials 😂 but am I going to attempt Val’s chocolate cherry truffles wrapped in edible gold leaf? Definitely!

Oh good. Seems like my brother’s whole house is coming down with something just in time for our flight home tomorrow

It's common to hear "fully accessible" to describe products which pass WCAG 2.2 AA. But, are they really?

In this post, I explore 5 examples of why WCAG, as awesome as it is, is not a measure of great usability or performance.

Hate to be posting this on a holiday, but there's been renewed interest in the CIA-backed Zero Units in Afghanistan. Here's a good summary of @propublica.org's 2022 reporting on the units and just some of the civilian casualties they were responsible for:
What We Know About U.S.-Backed Zero Units in Afghanistan
Deadly night raids. Faulty U.S. intelligence. A “classified” war loophole. Reporter Lynzy Billing’s investigation offers an unprecedented insight into the civilian casualties of Afghanistan’s Zero Uni...

My pie hot take is that if your apple pie has allspice in it, it’s trash 🤷‍♀️

I gather we’re discussing pie. I was thinking earlier about some general pie tips as I baked 5 pies for an order this week. Like put a few folds in your pie dough! It brings together the dry bits, and really makes the layers pop! Just 3 or so - you don’t want it to get tough on you

My handyman is over taking care of a couple of things for me and Gracie is going absolutely hog wild getting into all his tools and having zoomies all over his work space. I keep hearing him say in the softest voice, “Miha, miha, miha” 😂

Alice was an incredible person who worked hard to widen the path to liberation so others could follow. May we be called to rise up in the wake of her passing; may she rest in power.
Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

Six young Black moms were allegedly killed by suspects who were on probation but not being monitored in person by probation officers because of a warrant out for their arrest.

Their deaths left 12 children without mothers.

I love writing op-eds.

@teenvogue.com was my main outlet, but if there are any others (especially independently ran) that are looking for a contributing writer on race, gender, and the economy, I'd love to work with you.

In less than two hours my bloodsugar has dropped by over 300 points. So I feel fucking weird, thanks for asking! And no I don’t know why it did this, but if someone could figure it out and let me know, that would be great!
