And variant covers that are so far removed from the book's contents that no one on the cover appears inside.

I do enjoy the 4th audio adventure of the Eighth Doctor, Minuet In Hell. Paul McGann with India Fisher as Charley, and Nicholas Courtney as the beloved Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. The Hellfire Club is alive and nasty.

Shoot, shoot straight
Shoot, from the hip, yeah
Shoot, gone forever in a trigger slip
Well it could have been, it could have been your brother
Shoot, shoot straight
Shoot, shoot to kill, yeah
Blame each other, we'll blame yourself
You know, God is a bullet, have mercy on us everyone

I have a pair. Bill Everett simply got better with age, so sad it ended so soon. Two of my earliest comics, beautiful and fun. (Venus: be still, my 8 year old heart!)

"The Pact"
New Gods #7
Kirby is top notch anytime, but the epic scale of the war between Apololips and New Genesis took on the full grandeur of classic myths with this story (and the companion piece "Himon' in Mister Miracle #8).

This's the only thing I laughed at in Earnest Goes To Camp.
No one else in the theatre got it.

Here's Fantastic Four #141 from 1973. Probably the biggest crisis the family ever faced.

He was a big Doc Savage fan, had all the books (and I do mean all of them - with the obvious exception of anything published in the last two years). I wish that at least I could have told him about this. I may need to get one for myself, just because.
