Just finished reading this book recommended by my daughter. I believe it should be read by every adult in the world, but not at bedtime. Perfect for Hallowe'en as it's terrifying. More info in alt text.

Photo of book cover of Careless People written by Sarah Wynn-Williams. This is a rather fast-paced memoir written by a New Zealand gal mostly about her work at Facebook. It confirmed many of my own thoughts about social media, privacy, politics, etc. It is worth reading no matter what your opinions or beliefs, and it covers so much. Please let me know if you do read it and what you thought of it. I'm very fond of open, honest non-hateful discussion of such things. NB: This is excellent as an audiobook as it is narrated by the author who shares the feelings of what she wrote in her own voice.

Finally finished my alphabet painting for my granddaughter for the holidays. Followed tutorials by @Dewintonpaperco.com on YouTube. It was challenging, being miniature and following someone else's work, but I loved it!

Having some fun looking at photos from our honeymoon in 2000. This is Point Barrow, Alaska. Whale bones in dumpsters. The bones are left far from the town so the polar bears stay away. Reminds me of the Flintstones.

Made a funny little watercolor card for my elderly mom. Although her life has become smaller, I chose three things she loves - the Southwest, out to eat, and games - both playing and watching. Thanks to Becca Courtice, @thehappyevercrafter, for the idea! Details in ALT.

The word "Mom" with pictures in each letter. The pictures follow a theme of something my mom loves - the Southwest for the first M, food and going out to eat in the O, and activities she enjoys doing or watching in the third. Card size, about 5X7", so teeny pictures. Done in watercolor with a Pigma micron pen. Inside it will say, "I love who you are!" Much thanks to Becca Courtice, my online calligraphy teacher, for the idea. She can be found at TheHappyEverCrafter.com. I highly recommend her!

Last night was date night. After a fine meal with some homegrown food, my husband told me he'd tell my fortune. Intrigued, I said okay.

Bless his sweet heart! With a necklace on his head, a scarf as his turban, and his robe (repurposed), we laughed hard and long! Best date ever!
A silly husband dressed up as the Great Robonzo on date night to tell his wife her fortune on date night. With a turtle necklace on his head and a scarf wrapped as a turban, even his robe, repurposed as the robe of a great gypsy fortune-teller, helped to create the personage. The candles and the cards completed the "ambiance". He actually looked up tarot cards online to help his authenticity! Laughed so hard, and we're laughing still! Men could learn from him. Be vulnerable, play the fool to play!! Couldn't love him more! (Until tomorrow, of course!)

I agree! This was mine...well-loved and read to my children BEFORE all of the movies. :-) Also 1966. My mom gave it to me when I was a little girl. Nothing can come close to a fertile imagination!

Fascinating! Yes, We have enjoyed seeing many pieces of art in many museums, though impossible to see everything in any museum. We love finding new pieces which we hope to go back to see...someday, and yes, many that we'll see only in photos. Here's one we loved from the National Gallery in London.

Just finished "James" by Percival Everett. Good book!

A fascinating book - reimagined from Twain's "Huck Finn". The adventures are told from the escaped slave, Jim's, point of view. Made me think and feel. Worth the read. 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction. I recommend it!

The family's understanding is that grandfather, Earle Dexter, led the first Boy Scout group into Yosemite in 1915.
